CASE STUDY
Business carbon footprint
wp862eeaae.png

Graph showing the whole business carbon footprint over the first 36 months.  During the second and third years, monthly cost savings for the utilities alone range from about £2000 in the summer months to £12000 in the heating season.

The carbon footprint for the business and the evolution of the footprint has been determined across all business systems and for all measures implemented to achieve carbon reductions.  The measures include energy conservation, water conservation, resource efficiency, waste minimisation, ecodesign optimisation, supply chain optimisation, operational efficiency, and service efficiency measures.  All products manufactured by the business (including electronic products) are carbon footprinted from cradle to business-gate and product footprints are evaluated through the ecodesign processes.  Supply chains and logistics are optimised on an international basis.  Further reductions in emissions beyond year three enable the business to become very competitive in carbon-constrained markets.
