Producer responsibility legislation
Several pieces of producer responsibility legislation have already been introduced, not only in Europe but also in other jurisdictions. Examples of these types of legislation include Packaging, WEEE, RoHS, ELV, Batteries, REACH and EuP regulations. These may be relevant to your business and the goods and services placed on the market. Our services in producer responsibility cover assessment, compliance and due diligence in support of improved business performance.
Some of the more recent producer responsibility legislation incorporates a new form of climate change legislation applied through the supply chain. For example, the EuP Directive requires assessment of greenhouse gases through the supply chain for the life cycle of an energy using product. The Grenelle 2 pilot project for labelling products with life cycle CO2e is an important national initiative that affects business both within and outside France.
