This research focuses on advanced techniques for designing goods, services, processes and organisations for a low-carbon economy.  Important tasks are the establishment of ecodesign principles for the ecocorporation, its worldwide system of ecofactories and ecologistics, and dynamic intersection with ecomarkets.
COMPUTATIONAL ECODESIGN
Computational ecodesign
Research on computational ecodesign at Xanfeon is focussed on the development of advanced techniques for designing goods, services, processes and organisations in rapidly-evolving carbon-constrained economies.  The work includes the design and evaluation of ecomarket systems and their regulatory frameworks as well as the design and assessment of ecocorporations.

An important emphasis of the work is on carbon and eco footprinting, models of sustainable business, and evaluation of carbon competitive business strategies.

Ecodesign of the ecocorporation
In low-carbon markets, the most competitive businesses are the ones which use ecodesign to engineer every aspect of the business.  From ecodesign of products through to ecodesign of business processes, organisational structures, and business webs.

Theory of ecomarkets
In order to describe the evolution of ecomarkets, it is necessary to account for phase transitions and other collective and critical point phenomena.  At critical points, fluctuations sweep across the markets causing widespread structural and dynamical changes.  The nature of these changes provide important insight for businesses developing competitive strategies.
